1、 Preparation before using emergency pump
Equipment inspection
Appearance inspection: Confirm that there are no cracks or deformations in the pump body, no leaks at the pipeline connections, and no loose fasteners.
Emergency pump electrical system: Check that the cable insulation layer is intact, the grounding wire is reliable, and the control cabinet indicator light is normal.
Lubrication system: Manually rotate and confirm that the bearings rotate flexibly and the lubrication level is normal (if applicable).
Medium adaptability: Confirm that the pump body material is compatible with the conveying medium.
Environmental Assessment
Ensure that the installation ground is flat, free of standing water, well ventilated, and away from flammable and explosive materials. Check that the inlet and outlet pipelines are unobstructed and free of blockages or foreign objects.
test run
Before starting, manually fill the pump (excluding self-priming pumps) to ensure that the pump chamber is filled with the medium. Jot the motor to observe if the steering is consistent with the markings, and immediately stop and adjust if there are any abnormalities.

Real time recording of flow rate, head, pressure and other parameters, comparing with rated values to determine operating status. Monitor motor current and voltage to avoid overload operation (current ≤ rated value).
Abnormal warning
Abnormal sound: Bearing wear and cavitation require immediate shutdown.
Increased vibration: may be due to unbalanced impeller or loose installation, requiring shutdown for maintenance.
Abnormal temperature: If the motor temperature exceeds 65 ℃ or the bearing temperature exceeds 80 ℃, the machine needs to be stopped for cooling.
Media management
To avoid dry grinding caused by pump idling, regularly check the medium level. When transporting media containing particles, it is necessary to install filters and clean them regularly.
3、 Emergency pump shutdown and maintenance
Shutdown process
First, close the outlet valve, then cut off the power and prevent water hammer impact. When not in use for a long time, drain the accumulated water in the pump chamber to prevent rusting.
Routine maintenance
Lubrication: Regularly replace the bearing grease according to the instructions.
Sealing inspection: If the mechanical seal leaks more than 10 drops per minute, it needs to be replaced.
Anti corrosion treatment: Stainless steel pump body should avoid contact with chloride ions, and cast iron pump body should be coated with anti rust paint.
Regular maintenance
Check the impeller wear and ring clearance every quarter. Perform motor insulation resistance testing annually.
4、 Emergency Pump Security and Compliance
Operating specifications
It is prohibited to disassemble pipelines under pressure. The pressure must be released first and the valve must be closed. Explosion proof motors should be used in rainy or humid environments.
Emergency plan
Equip backup power sources (such as diesel generators) to cope with power outages. Prepare quick connectors, sealing gaskets, and other vulnerable parts.
